In the morning of May 19, the delegation of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Youth League, led by the First Secretary Susely Morfa González commemorated the 123th anniversary of the death of the Cuban hero José Marti at Tao Dan Garden in Hanoi. The ceremony was attended by Cuban ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera, Head of International Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Hai Minh, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations Tran Phuong, representatives of the the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association in Hanoi and officials of the Embassy of Cuba in Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Susy Morfa González expressed her gratitude to the presence of delegates during the celebration. She emphasized that the thought of two heroes José Martí and Ho Chi Minh always are inevery generations of Cuba and Vietnam. The patriotism and the spirit of heroic struggle for freedom and national independence will illuminate the path of socialist construction of two nations. This had been shown through the close relationship of the young generation of Vietnam and Cuba today. At the ceremony, the delegation spent a minute’s silence for victims of the plane crashes after taking off from Havana airport at 12.08pm on May 18.
In the same day, the delegation also visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleumand the Presidential Palace on the 128th anniversary of his birth.
