Second Congress of Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association in Hanoi

On the afternoon of August 26, at the headquarters of Hanoi Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association of Hanoi held the second congress to evaluate the results of the 2012-2017 term, and plan for the 2017-2022 term.

The Congress was attended by Mr. Ho Anh Dung – Chairman of the Vietnam Committee of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Mr. Can Viet Anh – Standing Vice Chairman of HAUFO, Mr. Mohammed Bahjat Abdullah – Chargé d’Affaires of the Palestinian Embassy in Vietnam, representatives of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, officials of the Palestinian Embassy in Vietnam, members of the Executive Committee and members of the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association in Hanoi.

The Congress discussed and approved reports, the association’s charter as well as the operational direction of the next term. To continue promoting effectively activities of the previous term based on the Party’s and State’s policies on the work of the people-to-people diplomacy during the 2017-2022 term, the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association of Hanoi continued to establish more branches. Moreover, the association continued to participate in activities of the Vietnam Committee of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and HAUFO. Besides, the association regularly coordinated with the Palestinian Embassy in Vietnam to organize activities in the international day for solidarity with the Palestinian people, actively participate in humanitarian and charitable activities, etc.

Congress elected the Executive Committee including 17 members led by Mr.Nguyen Quang Khai, former Ambassador of Vietnam to some Arab countries.

At the congress, Mr. Ho Anh Dung and Mr. Can Viet Anh appreciated the role of the association in the promotion of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples. At the same time, they believed the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association in Hanoi will receive many great achievement, contribute to the socio-economic development and external relations of Hanoi.
